Overview

The Arts Database Project is a project to catalog the Fresno Arts Council's "internal rolodex" into an online information clearinghouse that is open to the public (and open to the members of the arts industry to populate). The project is partially funded by the 2008 - 2009 Technical Assistant Grant of the California Arts Council and through in-kind services donation from Socient.

Major Category Listings

• Artists - list of local artists and creatives with an option to filter search results by their discipline
• ArtHop Venues - list of participating ArtHop venues
• Studios / Galleries - list of artist's studios and galleries in Fresno County
• Creative Services - list of businesses and consultants that are part of the "creative industry" as defined here.
• Museums / Historical Societies - list of museums and historical societies in Fresno County (and surrounding areas)
• Performing Arts Venues - list of theatres, halls, clubs, and parks where an event could be held in Fresno County.
• Organizations - Arts & Civics - list of organizations related to the arts and creative industry. This could be non-profits with an art component, community-benefit and civic organizations, and local and state agencies
• Businesses - list of businesses in retail or any industry other than creative services that supports and serves the arts industry in general
• Online Communities - list of online communities based in (or which targets) Fresno County and surrounding areas. Example of online communities are blogs; Facebook, Myspace, and Flickr groups; forums; and social networks.
